I was a health journalist, writing for publications such as The Daily Mail, The Sunday Times, Marie Claire, The Mirror, Red, She, Zest magazine and the Times when I discovered life coaching. My mission as a health journalist was to report on new and effective ways to live a healthier and happier life.
And I had tried many things – anything from dancing naked outside a teepee in Glastonbury in order to rid myself of emotional baggage to sticking a plastic tube up my bum in an attempt at DIY colonic irrigation to stop smoking!
However hiring a life coach in 1997 has been the one thing I have found which has improved my life immeasurably on every level. Over the last few years, I became health editor of New Woman and Ok! magazine, went back to being freelance again, tripled my income, trained to become a life coach, have written a book and had a much longed for baby.
I work four afternoons a week and am passionate about maintaining a great work/life balance. To me success is spending time with the people that I love, doing the work that I love, living a life that I love.
I am fully qualified coach and certified graduate with Coach University (www.coachu.com) which means I have completed all of the required class room hours for Coach U Graduation (200/hrs), passed all of the exams with a score of 80% or higher, have been mentor coached by an ICF Certified Coach for at least six months, have had at least six of my coaching sessions supervised by my coach with written feedback, coached at least 40 clients for a total of 750 coaching hours, been recommended by two certified coaches, presented client analysis for 5 clients with supporting letters from these clients, analyzed 3 case studies, and successfully defended my application before the Certification Review Committee at Coach University.
I am a member of the International Coaching Federation, the coaching industry’s governing body.
