I know that coaching works in a very powerful but subtle way. How? Because I’ve “been there” that’s how. I was once the Princess of Pain and Queen of Struggle. I’d had my share of traumas – bereavements, divorce, redundancy, cellulite and barely coped with all of them.
If there was painful or difficult way of doing things I would find it; choosing the path of most resistance. Like you I had tried many things to change my lot (from Chardonnay downing to chakra opening) and had thrown in the towel when it didn’t work and resigned myself to a life of cynicism and hardship.
I was so attached to struggle and my life so blocked it was either phone Dynorod or get a coach. I hit the jackpot when Suzy Greaves became my coach (just the best coach in the world) and I saved a fortune on Mr Muscle too!
It was simply one of the best decisions I ever made in my life.
If I said I was happier, richer, more energized and slimmer that wouldn’t be the total truth, although very near it. But in almost every dimension of my life there has been phenomenal improvement, a complete upgrade, and I feel boundless optimism for my future. I just know life is going to be fabulous now.
I am a journalist and have in my time devised and presented TV programmes and documentaries (BBC/ITV) and I have written for many of the nationals – The Independent on Sunday, The Sun, The Express, The Mirror and She and Red magazine.
It took me a long time to admit, and be proud of the fact, that I am completely self-taught as a writer and broadcaster. The “shame” of having the most basic of educations having been replaced by a big fat, self-satisfied “I did that”.
On a personal note I am married to a wise and long-suffering man who has blessed me with two divine children (my unofficial coaches).
I am a member of the International Coaching Federation and have trained with the internationally acclaimed Coachu coaching academy. I regularly coach at the London School of Economics and other corporate clients have included Universities UK and coaching consultancy work for Marks and Spencer.
