10 ways to catapult yourself from the sofa to the life you love
Sometimes getting started is the hardest part. Here are 10 things to give you energy, get you movin’ and a ‘shakin’ and taking the baby steps to create the life you really want. Enjoy!
1. Drink enough water to make you pee clear and you'll think more clearly too! 11/2 litres of water a day for the next four weeks and you will see and feel a 60 per cent improvement in your general vitality levels.
2. Identify what person, project (s) are bleeding you dry of energy - ask yourself - what would you have to change about your thinking to never have another project/person bleed you dry? (Stop rescuing/stop people-pleasing/stop trying to prove that you're good enough?)
3. Write down a list of your strengths - what are you naturally good at? Where do you excel? Now go and do one thing that allows you to show off your strength.
4. Stand up, stand firm, plant your feet squarely, breathe into your belly and make the scary phonecall you know you have to make. Reward yourself in rather exaggerated and delightful ways afterwards.
5. Focus on what is working. If you are constantly focusing on what isn't working, you'll get more of the same. Identify three things in three areas of your life that work beautifully and do more of them e.g You love spending time with your partner so organise an extra date this week, you love your yoga class so book a weekend workshop this month, you love reading a new author you've discovered - buy their next book.
6. Go back to basics and get a person who loves you to sit you down and spend half an hour why you are fantastic, wonderful and loved exactly how you are right now. Bask in the warm pool of adoration.
7. Make a list of 20 things you have achieved in your life that you are immensely proud of.
8. Stop focusing on the big picture and start cleaning up the details of your life. Details generally occur in the present and you can do something about them without being paralysed with fear. Take 3 actions right now that will improve your life instantly – from booking to have your hair cut to doing the washing up.
9. Let death motivate you. Ask yourself - what do you want to achieve before you die? Will this next step you're so terrified of taking be a step towards achieving your life's purpose? No? Then re-focus and take a step that will. If you feel you're on the right road, there's only one way forward.
10. Write a list of 50 things you're 'putting up' with - from bobbly bed sheets to a boss' snide comments and tackle each one or more over every day for the next 50 days.
