My big leap:
From adminstration to starting my own business as a personal stylist and shopper.
What I have achieved since Making The Big Leap:
The main achievement has been starting my own business from scratch, very quickly, and having to tackle the business side of things - designing and writing my website, writing press releases, working on my own marketing, financial insecurity.
I see the fact that I am really happy now as an achievement as I have had to work pretty hard on myself to get to where I am. Having a successful business that I am passionate about and believe in 100% has changed how I feel about myself and my life.
My top tips for making the big leap:
If you are leaping to offer a service, get a website as soon as possible, what ever your business.
My scariest moment and how I overcame it:
There have been a few. It’s a bit like hurdling!
The first time shopping with someone terrified me.
Then shopping with my first paying client. Although I had done the same things quite a few times with guinea pigs and friends, it felt much more scary as I really had to be good and deliver! The fear soon disappeared the minute we got shopping.
All these things are normal now that they are a real example to me of how things are always more scary in your head than in reality, and the only way is to face the fear and do it!
The highlight of the journey so far:
Probably the minute I had my eureka moment and knew this was exactly want I wanted to do for my career. It all made total sense - all the things I'd experienced in my life seems to fit with this. It was like a huge weight was lifted. I knew that I could make a difference to other people through something I really enjoyed and was so excited.
