My big leap: After 15 years of a well paid but unfulfilling career in IT I decided to turn my hobby into my work and started my own company as a Business/Sales trainer and Life Coach.
What I have achieved since Making The Big Leap: There have been so many achievements both on a professional and personal level. The doors just keep opening. I was the Relationship Coach for an internet dating company for a few years and regularly featured in the press. Even turned down the opportunity to appear on TV a few times. Now I have rebranded myself as a business/sales trainer and still do some coaching. Currently, I am training mostly corporates and my business is growing from strength to strength - watch this space!
My top tips for making the big leap: Have a vision of where you want to go and don't be afraid to dream 'Big'. Come up with a plan and take small regular steps to achieving the goal. Surround yourself with positive like-minded people and search out mentors who will give you advice and guidance. Learn from your setbacks and use them as feedback and a way to move forward differently rather than rejection. Check with yourself what your real motivations are for making the change. Don't get too stuck on just one result or one way of doing things and be open to changes in direction. I started off as a relationship coach and am now also a business trainer.
My scariest moment and how I overcame it: Giving up a well-paid job was very scary. Instead I came up with my IT exit strategy. While still working in IT I spent a year training myself up as a life coach. Over the next two years I kept up my day job but coached clients at evenings and weekends. To my surprise the Coaching career just took off and I was regularly featured in magazines. Eventually, it dawned on me that I didn't have to completely turn my back on the corporate world to have job satisfaction. I am now also a business trainer and using all my coaching skill alongside my corporate experience.
The highlight of the journey so far: Featured in Eve Magazine on more than one occasion. Sitting in a cafe and observing someone across the room reading an article with my life coaching tips.
How Big Leap Coaching Company has helped me: Suzy's Big Leap programme empowered me to go out there and have the confidence to be myself and still be very successful. I gained an insight into my strengths and how I could achieve my dream life through self-belief. Her coaching changed my life for good forever.
